Summer 2006

Station Information: Crosstab of CDEC IDs with NWSLIs, USGS IDs, and NESDIS (GOES) IDs has been added.

Groups Data: Twelve monthly groups added for active snow courses, grouped by watershed or basin. Monthly groups now available in CSV format. (queryMgroups.html)

Data Query Tools: Links to monthly group data added to queryGroupCSV, tabularGroupCSV, and queryGroupSHEF tools.

Snow Course Data: Menu added to snowQuery tool to retrieve data by watershed for snow course groups in CSV format.

Overview of CDEC: Updated number of agencies providing data to CDEC, number of microwave stations and sensors in the system, number of satellite stations and sensors in the system, and number of data exchange stations and sensors in the system. Added links to USBR, USACE, PG&E, and SMUD.

Satellite Images: Updated links to Oregon Climate Service, University of Hawaii, and University of Hawaii's Tropical Weather page. Link to Purdue University Weather Processor has been removed.

Winter 2005

Download Data Now: The Download Data Now feature has been added to several applications: the CSV Data Retriever (queryCSV), the SHEF Data Retriever (querySHEF), the Group CSV Data Retriever (queryGroupCSV), and the Group SHEF Data Retriever (queryGroupSHEF).

Database Server: CDEC implemented a new database server to replace an aging system that has been in service since 1999.

CDEC Station Search Tool: Options added for searching by sensor duration and by station status.

Groups Data: Real-time and Daily Groups Data pages have been updated.

Reservoir Data: Link added for latest real-time reservoir storage data.

Weather Forecasts / Summaries: New weather forecasts and summaries have been added and entire page has been re-designed. Names of products now use the same names used by the National Weather Service.
-- New page for Weather Product Definitions available by clicking on column headings on the Weather Forecasts / Summaries page.

River Stage Guidance: For the South Coast Region, the forecast point Santa Clara River at Montalvo [MNV] has been replaced by Santa Clara River at Freeman Diversion [STF]. Another forecast point, Sespe Creek near Fillmore [SSP] has been added to the South Coast Region upstream of STF. Available through Precipitation/Snow Information, River/Tide Forecasts, and River Stage/Flow Information pages.

Data Query Tools: Real-time Groups Data tool (queryGroup) now has a check box for a list of real-time groups and Daily Groups Data tool (queryDgroups) now has a check box for a list of daily groups.
-- Daily data by month tool (queryMM) now calculates monthly totals for incremental precip, storage change, and evaporation.
-- New tools now available for retrieving monthly data by water year (queryWY) and daily data by month (queryMM) through the CDEC Quick Search pull-down menu on the home page or through the Data Query Tools page.
-- Tools for real-time graphs (queryID, queryLonger) and for historic plots and data (histPlot, selectQuery) now have links to earlier and later plots, station maps, and station information.
-- Tool for historical data plot (histPlot) checks date range requested in order to limit query to 8192 data points.

Current River Conditions: Klamath R at Klamath [KNK] stage has replaced Klamath R nr Klamath (Turwar Creek) [TUR] on the Klamath Stages page.
-- North Fork Gualala River near Gualala [NFG] has been removed from Mattole River Stages page.

Snow Conditions: Link added for latest real-time snow water content data.
-- New report for daily snow depth (DLYSNOWDP) now available.

River Stages / Flows: New tool now available for retrieving latest list of stations that are above a defined river stage (lastStage).
-- Links added for latest real-time stage data and for latest real-time flow data.
-- Links added to USGS rating information, NWS rating information, and River Stage Summary (RNORR8RSA).

Station Information: All stations lists have now been updated for the new year.
-- Forecast Points page (fcst_pts.html) has been replaced with Detailed River Stage Stations page (rivstage_info.html).
-- List of all CDEC stations in CSV format updated as of March 3, 2005.

Tide Tables: 2005 Tide tables have been revised to include a brief preface at the beginning of the publication and to correct gage datums printed in the footnote at the bottom of each page.
-- Tide tables for the Sacramento River and for the San Joaquin River have been updated for 2005.

Glossary of Terms: Link added to NWS Glossary of Terms, Phrases, and Abbreviations. Available through CDEC Information page.

Daily Precipitation: Daily precipitation report (DLYPCP) now sorts stations by hydrologic area and river basin.

Accumulated Precipitation: Sensor added to 195 stations to compute accumulated precipitation per water year from daily incremental precipitation data.

Station Information: New list now available for USGS stations.

Current River Conditions: Kings River at Gale Avenue [GAL] has been added to Kings River Stages page. Kings River below Army Weir [AMW] and Kings River below Crescent Weir [CSW] has been removed from the Kings River Stages page.

Other Data Sources: Local Agencies links added for LA County Precipitation Data, San Bernardino County Hydrologic Data, Napa Valley Rainfall and Stream Level Information System, Santa Clara ALERT Data, Ventura County Storm Watch System, Orange County Current Rainfall Data, City of Roseville Flood ALERT Map, Contra Costa Rainfall Data, Santa Barbara Rainfall Data, Marin County ALERT System, Monterey County Water Resources, San Benito Rainfall Data, and San Joaquin County ALERT System.

River Stages/Flows: Flood control project river schematics and maps have been added.

Data Query Tools: New tool to retrieve a group of SHEF data (queryGroupSHEF) now available through the CDEC Quick Search pull-down menu on the home page or through the Data Query Tools page.

Current River Conditions: Where flow sensors have been discontinued, specific page will display "station not rated for flow."

Water Supply: Chart of statewide hydrologic conditions has changed from PLOT_CONDSUM to PLOT_WY_CONDSUM.

Snow Conditions: Snow density information has been added. Link to previous copies of PLOT_SWC have been added.

Executive Update: Executive summary report for Hydrologic Conditions for southern California (EXECSUM3) has been added. The latest version of the report can be accessed through the CDEC Quick Search pull-down menu on the home page.

Tide Tables: Tide tables for the Sacramento River and for the San Joaquin River have been updated for 2004.

Snow Averages: The 50-year period now reflects 1951 through 2000.

Web Server: CDEC implemented a new web server to replace an aging system that has been in service since 1997 when annual access was about a third of current accesses.

Real-time Data: This query tool has been updated to increase performance.

Station Information: All stations lists have now been updated.
-- List of all CDEC stations now available in CSV format for download.

Sensor Definitions: The list of sensor definitions has been updated. It now is sorted by sensor rather than sensor number.

Summer 2003

California Dams: A new query tool is now available to retrieve metadata for California dams. This tool replaces the UC Berkeley link and can be accessed through the Reservoir Information page.

NWS Precipitation and Stage Maps: These enhanced graphics are now in png format.

Snowpack Status: This page has been redesigned for better readability and easier navigation.

Historical Snow Sensor Data: A new query tool is now availabe through the Snowpack Status page.

Winter 2003

River Stage Guidance Plots: These new pages are provided for planning purposes and are available through Precipitation/Snow Information, River/Tide Forecasts, and River Stage/Flow Information pages.

Tide Tables: Tables have been updated for 2003.

Station Information: All stations lists have now been updated.

Statewide Water Conditions: This new page pulls together products on various aspects of California's water conditions into one product. This product can be accessed from the CDEC Home page.

Summer 2002

Water Supply Information: WSUP product has been replaced by the Executive Update report.
